Timber Casement Windows in London

Ayrton Bespoke designs and crafts high-end timber casement windows for period, conservation, heritage, and contemporary homes across London. Over the last two decades, we’ve established ourselves as a leading name in bespoke windows. We combine traditional joinery with millimetre-perfect engineering, crafting bespoke casement windows that deliver superior thermal efficiency, security, and weather performance — never compromising on aesthetics or authenticity.
From ornate Victorian and Arts & Crafts casement window styles to the more reserved mid-century and contemporary preferences, homeowners across London trust Ayrton for bespoke casement windows that complement their property’s character.
Timber Casement Windows for Every London Property
Casement windows remain one of the most popular and versatile window styles not only in London but across British architecture. We specialise exclusively in true flush timber casement windows — the original configuration the sash sits level (flush) within the frame — for outward-opening windows that offer uninterrupted views, practical ventilation, and a refined aesthetic.
Flush Casement Windows
Unlike lipped or stormproof casement windows that protrude from the frame, flush casement windows create a clean and cohesive look without projections that disrupt the facade. This flush look is considered an essential detail in many period and conservation homes, and its timeless appeal continues to make it a popular choice for contemporary homes as well.
Casement Windows for Heritage & Conservation Homes
Preserving original sightlines, frame and moulding dimensions, and glazing proportions is essential when replacing windows in listed or conservation homes. We accurately replicate existing casement windows, bringing modern performance while ensuring that the original glazing bar widths, ironmongery details, and window proportions remain intact.
Modern Casement Windows for Contemporary Homes
In both mid-century and contemporary homes, casement windows typically feature larger glazed areas, slimmer profiles, and a less-is-more approach to detailing. We work hand-in-hand with our clients to design casement window solutions built around the home’s unique style and architectural requirements.

The capital turns to Ayrton Bespoke for timber casement windows not only for their beautiful designs and ultra-premium build quality, but because we design and craft each window to feel like it belongs. We are design experts, taking into consideration heritage detailing, structural demands, planning permission, performance expectations, and, above all, our clients’ bespoke needs.

Architectural & Heritage Understanding
Timber casement windows have been a London staple since the Georgian era, evolving through the Victorian and Edwardian, Arts & Crafts, and mid-century periods, and remaining a top choice for contemporary and architect-designed builds today. We understand the subtle changes in proportions and detailing across these eras, and guide our clients to windows that feel original — never like replacements.
Windows Engineered for London Living
Without projecting and stormproof lips, flush casement windows demand accurate engineering. Ours are handcrafted to the tightest tolerances, then machine-finished under factory conditions for lasting stability and performance, ensuring years of virtually maintenance-free protection from London’s wind-driven rain, seasonal temperature shifts, and fluctuating humidity.
Experience with Heritage and Conservation Homes
We have extensive experience helping London heritage and conservation homeowners bring modern performance to protected properties. We accurately recreate the finest details — from traditional ironmongery and mouldings to glazing bar profiles and frame depths — ensuring a seamless and stress-free planning permission process and complying with listed building and conservation requirements.

We prefer to conduct a site visit whenever possible to provide thorough and professional advice, covering all London postcodes and beyond. During a visit, our sales team will discuss the scope of work with you and explain Ayrton’s approach, including details about the materials we use, our fitting methods, our factory and business operations. The more questions you have for us the better! We take initial measurements to prepare a precise quotation for you.

If you haven’t already visited one of our showrooms, we encourage you to do so while you consider your quote. Our showrooms are useful spaces to explore our product range and get a feel for what you are investing in. Alternatively, our sales team can share locations of local Ayrton installations for you to inspect, or you can speak directly with one of our clients to hear firsthand about their Ayrton experience.

Following a deposit paid, our work starts with a detailed survey of your property to ensure we design with precision and your windows (or doors) are built to fit their apertures. Once design is agreed, production begins at our factory and our Operations team with an estimated fitting date.

Making your brand-new window or door is only part of the job. Ensuring that the product is fitted precisely and securely is important. All our fitters are Ayrton employees, and it’s their job to make sure that they get that perfect fit with minimum fuss.

Casement windows are hinged windows that open outward (mostly), typically using a handle or stay that’s also used to lock the window when closed. Like sash windows, casement windows have been a popular style in the UK for several hundred years, particularly in Tudor homes and cottage-style properties.
We design and craft a broad range of casement window styles, including top, side, and bottom-hung configurations, inward- or outward-opening, flush or raised, and more. Whether looking for timber casement window replicas that are indistinguishable from the originals for a period home, a sleek and flush design for a contemporary home, or have other bespoke window needs, speak to Ayrton Bespoke first.
Timber casement windows are easy to clean and require minimal maintenance over their expected service life of 60+ years. Swinging open, they typically provide access to each glass pane for convenient cleaning, and modern, durable surface finishes mean only having to check the paintwork after several years of ownership. Our internal components are manufactured using superior-grade materials and tight tolerances for decades of smooth, maintenance-free operation.
With nothing more than a new paint job every couple of decades and routine cleaning, your bespoke timber casement windows should stay beautiful and in perfect working order for a lifetime.
We are London’s leading experts when it comes to crafting true replicas of existing casement windows for period or conservation area homes. Our team accurately recreates casement windows that bring modern thermal efficiency, security, and performance to traditional homes while keeping their distinct look, feel, and character intact. Bringing decades of experience in renovating period properties to the table, our team also understands how to navigate planning permissions and building regulations, ensuring an on-time and in-budget project.

Casement windows designed with security in mind are as secure as any other type of window. At Ayrton, all our casement windows are fitted with insurance-approved and high-security locks, while our frames feature high-quality ironmongery from ‘The Anvil’ and multi-point locking for additional security. Ayrton Bespoke is FENSA-accredited and we hold the BSI Kitemark for window and door installations, giving you peace of mind that your high-security windows are securely installed.
Our experienced in-house installation team typically takes about a day to install a complete set of casement windows—including time spent ‘making good’ or repairing any plaster damage. In cases where we fit large casement bay window and require HIAB cranes and scaffolding, installation may take up to 3 days. The entire process from first contact to final quality checks typically takes around 14 to 16 weeks.
Our casement windows aren’t off-the-shelf; they’re custom designed and handcrafted using a combination of traditional woodworking techniques and modern manufacturing processes.
Bespoke timber casement windows may vary significantly in cost. Factors such as the size, design complexity, specialised ironmongery or stained glass work, and glazing options may all affect the final cost.
At Ayrton Bespoke, we offer a free at-home consultation service, allowing us to fully understand your needs before delivering a custom quote based on your unique requirements.
A window’s energy efficiency largely depends on the quality of the glazed unit; however, factors such as manufacturing tolerances and the quality of the installation will also play a role. All Ayrton Bespoke casement windows are fitted with high-efficiency double-glazed units with a U-value of around 1.2 W/m²K as standard, meaning enhanced insulation and lower heating and energy bills.
Where thermal efficiency is a genuine priority, our team may fit vacuum-sealed glazed units with a U-value as low as 0.7 W/m²K—significantly outperforming even the best inert-gas double-glazed windows.
